Why did rearmament help reduce unemployment?
Not only did it increase the size of the army (creating more jobs) but it also had an impact on other industries (e.g. munitions, people who produced uniforms etc.)

A scheme that was provided manual labour for men between 18-25. It was compulsory to serve for six months
