what restrictions did the Allies put on German industries?
- industries considered to be War industries were banned and others that were War-related (chemical industries) had their outputs restricted.
how did the Allies take reparations from Germany?
Reparations were to be taken in equipment and machinery from each zone.
what problems did France and the Soviets cause?
they dismantled many remaining factories for reparations, undermining any chance of an economic recovery, even though the Allies agreed it was important to rebuild Germany’s economy.
why did the black market thrive?
the fact that the Reichsmark was worthless was damaging to the economy too, most daily essentials were only available on the black market .

it was difficult to get workers as the wages bought hardly anything.

as the Allies controlled different zones, transport and communication links crossed the zones, it hampered economic recovery.

160,000 German prisoners of war in France stayed there after the War but this number exceeded to some 10 million Germans before the Soviets came into Germany
