What are some security measures that can be taken to protect your computer?
Anti-virus

Firewall: monitors what goes in and out of the computer.

What are cookies and how do they work?
They are small text files saved onto your computer when you access certain websites. They can store your preferences, username/password, email, general web page use, where you go before and after that page.
How do you know if a site is secure and why is it important?
If a site is secure it has an “s” after “http” – “https”. it also has a digital certificate which is found on the padlock in the top search bar.
This is important because information van be viewed by a third party if intercepted. Security encrypts the information so it can’t be read.
What does a good privacy policy do?
Make you aware of the policy
Prompt you for your consent
Allow you to access the data they store about you
Maintain security for data
Allow enforcement or redress for policy break
Ensure that you do agree before joining site
What is an intermediary?
They handle/ hold your money then give it to the people. E.G. PayPal and Escrow. Escrow holds onto your money until you receive the item and then pay.
What are the criteria for a website evaluation?
