Biosphere
the regions of the surface and atmosphere of the earth or another planet occupied by living organisms.
Biome
a community of plants and animals that have common characteristics for the environment they exist in. They can be found over a range of continents.
Ecosystem
a biological community of interacting organisms and their physical environment.
Community
a group of interdependent plants or animals growing or living together in natural conditions or occupying a specified habitat.
Population
a community of animals, plants, or humans among whose members interbreeding occurs.
Organism
an individual animal, plant, or single-celled life form.
Habitat
the natural home or environment of an animal, plant, or other organism.
Interdependence
the dependence of two or more people or things on each other.
Biotic factor
the living components of an ecosystem. They are sorted into three groups: producers or autotrophs, consumers or heterotrophs, and decomposers or detritivores.
Abiotic factor
non-living chemical and physical parts of the environment that affect living organisms and the functioning of ecosystems.
