Q

What are four spheres of earth planet what are they made of?

A

Atmosphere, lithospheric, hydrosphere, biosphere The atmosphere is made up of layer of gases the lithosphere is made of rocks and minerals the hydrosphere is made of all of earths water in solid liquid and gas form the biosphere is the zone around earth where life can exist.

Q

What makes an ecosystem healthy?

A

When an ecosystem is bio diverse and it’s in different choices to eat one animal extinct the other animals will still have something to eat big reaction

Q

What is photosynthesis what organisms do it what substances are involved the word equation what is the purpose

A

Only producers with your plants do photosynthesis the word equation is light energy aero chemical energy for substances involved in this process is carbon dioxide and water substances produced are carbohydrates and oxygen the purpose of this is to bring energy into the ecosystem

Q

Describe cellular respiration what organisms do it what substances are involved the word equation what is the purpose?

A

All living things do cellular respiration the substances involved are glucose and oxygen and it produces carbon dioxide and water the word equation is glucose plus oxygen aero carbon dioxide plus water plus energy the purpose is to cycle oxygen and carbon dioxide and create useable energy

Q

What is the difference between a food web and a food chain?

A

Food web is lots of different paths and has multiple food chains connected in the food chain is one path

Q

What would happen if an organism was removed for the food chain/web effect on prey/effect on predators?

A

If the ecosystem is very healthy then it should not have too big of an effect if it was biodiversity but if the ecosystem was unhealthy the animal that was a predator to that animal might not have enough food and the prey to the animal might overpopulated. However if one of the producers which air plant would be consumed they would have a much larger effect

14
Q

Is the transfer of energy between trophic levels efficient explain

A

The transfer of energy between the trophic levels is not super efficient because after it is passed on to each new animal that only get 10% of the energy from the pool plant or animal that they ate

15
Q

How is energy lost from one level to another?

A

Only 10% of the energy is passed on to The next level that gets that energy

16
Q

describe a water cycle through an ecosystem. What is transpiration?

A

Precipitation infiltration evaporation transpiration condensation transpiration transpiration is the evaporation of water from plants

17
Q

What are some limiting factors

A

Temperature water availability competition

18
Q

What is the carrying capacity of an ecosystem provide an example to show your understanding

A

Carrying capacity is the number of individuals of a species that an ecosystem can support if there was a population of 100 rabbits with enough grass to support 75 rabbits competition for food and sure the population will decline carrying capacity 75 rabbits

19
Q

Provide examples of abiotic factors and how they limit the population

A

Temperature if an animal cannot live in that temperature that will limit the population water availability if the animals cannot get to the water they will get dehydrated and limit the population

20
Q

Why examples of biotic limiting factors and how they limit the population

A

Predation if the prey is eaten by a lot of predators that will limit the population competition multiple animals fighting for the same resources
