What is the greenhouse effect?
When greenhouse gases in the atmosphere stop light and heat from exiting the earths atmosphere causing the earth to heat up
How does the manufacturing of everyday items affect carbon emissions?
Everyday items being created release carbon into the atmosphere
What is a carbon footprint?
The amount of carbon released into the atmosphere by a group, person or organization
What is the ecological footprint?
Measures how fast we consume resources and general waste
What is mining?
When raw materials are dug out of the ground
What is drilling?
When a hole is placed inside of something using a drill to extract materials such as oil
What is deforestation?
Deforestation is the cutting down of trees to create extra land for agricultural use or to create resources for manufcaturing
What are product miles?
The distance travelled by raw materials from source to manufacturer
What is oceanic pollution?
Oceanic pollution is the pollution of waterways and bodies of water by the mismanagement of toxic by-products
What is atmospheric pollution?
Atmospheric pollution is the exert of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere
