ECG_coronary arteries_ Flashcards
describe atrial fibrillation on an ECG?
Chaotic and erratic baseline (irregularly irregular) with no discrete P waves in between irregularly spaced QRS complexes.
what are the complications of atrial fibrillation?
Can result in atrial stasis and lead to thromboembolic stroke.
what is the treatment of AFib?
Treatment includes rate control, anticoagulation, and possible pharmacological or electrical cardioversion.
eg…rivaroxaban
coronary artery occlusion most commonly occurs in ?
LAD, left anterior descenting
the LAD of the coronary artery system supplies what parts of the heart?
the anterior 2/3 of the interventricular septum
anterior papillary muscle
anterior surface of the left ventricle
the SA node and the AV node are usually supplied by which coronary artery?
RCA
if you had an infarct to the RCA (which supplies the nodes) what would result?
bradycardia, heart block
what is right dominant circulation, left dominant circulation and co-dominant circulation in relation to the heart?
give %’s
and origin or blood supply
Right- 85%- PDA (posterior descending artery) arises from RCA
Left- 8%- PDA arises from LCX
co-dominant- 7%- PDA arises
what is the most posterior part of the heart? what would enlargement of this cause?
left atrium
dysphagia, hoarseness
what does the LCX of the coronary artery system supply?
left lateral ventricle, and posterior wall of left ventricle
what does the PDA of coronary system supply?
posterior 1/3 of AV spetum, posterior walls of ventricles
