ECG RHYTHMS Flashcards
How many seconds in a small box?
.04 secs
How many seconds in a large box?
0.20secs
What does the P wave represent?
Atrial Depolarization
What does the QRS represent?
Depolarization of the ventricles
What does the T wave represent?
Ventricular depolarization
How long is the PR interval
1.12-0.2 3-5 mini boxes
How long is the QRS interval?
0.08-0.12 secs 2-3 mini boxes
What are the 5 steps to analyze a rhythm?
- Rate
- Rhythm
- P-Wave
- PRI
- QRS Comples
What are the indicaters of Sinus Dysphythmia?
Irreg…. Normal around otherwise
Name 4 Atrial Rhythms
WAP, SVT, A-Flutter, A-fib
Name 3 Junctional Rhythms
Junctional Escape Rhythm, Accelerated Junctional Rhythm
Name 4 Ventricular Rhythms
Ventricular Escape Complex, V-Tach, Torsade De Pointes, V-Fib.
What are the Markers of Wondering Atrial Pacemaker?
Rate normal Rhythm- Slightly Irreg Pwaves- different morphology PRI- Typically Normally QRS Normal
What are the markers of SVT?
Rate 150-250 Rhythm-Normal Pwaves- burried in proceeding T PRI Normal QRS Normal
What are the markers of A-Flutter?
Rate - *Atrial Rate 250-350 Rhythm- Atrial rate is reg P-waves- Saw tooth PRI Typically constant QRS - normal
What are the Markers for A-FIb?
Rate (atrial rate 350-750) Rhythm- Irregularly irregular P-waves No decernable pwaves PRI none QRS - normal
What are the markers for a First degree Block?
Ellongated… caused by a delay in conduction at the AV node.
Second Degree Type 1 AV block what are the markers? Wenkebach
…
Second Degree Type 2 Mobitz
..
What are the markers for Accelerated Juntional Rhythm
Rate 60-100 Rhythm- Reg P-waves Inverted or absent PRI Normal or absent QRS Normal Increase in the Automaticity in the AV Junction Results from ischemia at the AV Junction
What are the markers for Junctional Tachycardia
Rate 100 plus Reg Pwaves None or inverted PRI None or normal QRS normal
What are the Differences between PAC, PJC and PVC
- A PAC is when you have another full contraction (heartbeat) (P, QRS, T) that starts right after you have already have a full contraction (heartbeat) (P, QRS, T).
- A PVC, you will have a QRS complex that is greater than 0.12 seconds.
- A PJC is a QRS complex that is 0.12 seconds or less, but does not have a P wave.
What are the markers of V-tach
Rate 100-250 Rhythm- Regular P-waves, often not present PRI None QRS- wide
what are the Markers of V-Fib
Rate - None Rhythm none P-waves, None PRI - None QRS- Irratic
