ecg Flashcards
describe one big box of ecg
made up of 5 x 5 squares (5 mm)
width = time
Time whole strip = 0,2 seconds
So one small block = 0.04 seconds
length = voltage
whole length strip = 0,5 mV
so one small block = 0.1 mV
How should the waveforms of limb leads look like?
lead I, II and III should have similar waveforms
which part of the heart are each limb leads looking at?
Lead I = High lateral wall of the left ventricle
Lead II and III = Inferior wall of the heart ( Includes both right and left ventricles)
How should Lead II and aVR waveform look like?
They should look like opposite waveform
which limbs in Limb leads and Augmented limbs should look the same?
Lead I , II , III
+
aVL and aVF
Should look the same
Which part of the heart are the Augmented limbs looking at?
aVR= Right Ventricle and Basal Septum
aVL= High Lateral wall of left ventricle
aVF= Inferior wall of the heart
Combine together which part of the heart are the limb leads and augmented limbs looking at:
Lead I and aVL = High lateral wall of the left Ventricle
Lead II, III, and aVF = Looks at the inferior wall of the heart
What happens to the R wave from V1 to V6?
R wave becomes bigger
What happens to the S wave from V1 to V6?
S wave becomes smaller
What part of the heart is V1 V2 and V3 looking at?
Right ventricle
What part of the heart is V2 and V3 looking at?
Basal septum
What part of the heart is V2, V3 and V4 looking at?
Anterior wall of the heart
What part of the heart is V5 and V6 looking at?
Lateral wall of the left ventricle
