What Business Analysis is?
BA is the practice of enabling a change in an enterprise by defining needs and recommending solutions that deliver value to stakeholder
How Business Analysis enables changes?
It helps to articulate needs and rationale for change and to design and describe solutions that can deliver value
How Business Analysis can be used?
It can be used to understand the current state, define the future state and determine the activities required to move from current to future state
What are the responsibilities of a Business Analyst?
A Business Analyst is responsible for eliciting the actual needs of stakeholder in order to determine the underlying issues and causes. Are responsible also for discovering, synthesizing and analyzing info from various sources within the organization
What knowledge areas are?
Collection of logically (but not sequentially) related tasks.

What are the concept of the Business Analysis Core Concept Model?
Change, Need, Solution, Value, Stakeholder, Context
What Change is?
The act of transformation in response to a need
What a need is
A problem or an opportunity to address
What solution is?
A specific way of satisfying one or more needs in a context
What value is?
The worth, importance, usefulness of something to a stakeholder within a context
Stakeholder
Individual, group or org. that may impact, be impacted by or may perceive itself as impacted by the solution
Context
Circumstances that influence, are influenced by and provide understanding for the change
What does the BACCM encompass?
What business analysis is and what it means to those performing its activities
What does design mean?
It’s a usable representation of a solution
What does requirement mean?
It’s a usable representation of a need
What Business Requirements are?
Highest representation of a need like statement of goals, objectives and outcomes that describe why a change has been initiated.
What Stakeholder Requirements are?
Describe the need of a stakeholder that must be met in order to achieve the business requirements. They may serve as bridge between business and solution requirements
What Solution Requirements are?
Describe capabilities and qualities of a solution that meets stakeholder requirements.
What are the two categories of Solution Requirements?
Functional and Non-Functional Requirements
What Functional Requirements are?
Describe the capabilities that a solution must have in terms of behavior and info that the solution will manage
What Non-Functional Requirements are?
Describe conditions under which the solution must remain effective or qualities that a solution must have
What Transition Requirements are?
Describe capabilities and conditions that the solution must have to facilitate the transition from current to future state. They are Temporary because they are not needed once the change is complete. Ex. are: training, data conversion and business continuity
