EB6 Flashcards
Learn how to use the EB6
How do you calculate the distance flown at a given speed in a given time?
Set the inner rate (60) to the speed.
Read the distance ( outer ) from the inner ( time )
How do you calculate the time given the fuel in the tank and the litres per hour?
Set the inner rate (60) to the litres per hour.
Read the the time from the inner and the litres used from the outer.
How do you calculate the climb time and ft per minute?
Inner ring is time ( 80 = 8 minutes )
Outer ring is ft climbed in the period.
Read above the Divisor ( 10 ) on the Inner
How do you multiple ( or divide )
Set the divisor ( 10 ) on the INNER circle.
Then read from the inner and outer circles.
How do you calculate track error.
Given:
distance covered (say 75 NM )
distance to go ( 30 NM )
distance off ( say 4 NM )
Line up
Outer: Distance OFF (4 NM)
Inner: Distance COVERED (75NM)
Read
Outer ring at the Rate Arrow on Inner
Track error: 3.2 degrees
How do you calculate Closing Angle?
Given:
distance covered (say 75 NM )
distance to go ( 30 NM )
distance off ( say 4 NM )
Line up
Outer: Distance OFF (4NM)
Inner: Distance to Go (30 NM)
Read
Outer ring at the Rate Arrow on the Inner
Closing Angle: 8 degrees
Mental Check. As the distance to go is LESS than distance covered - closing angle should be larger.
How do you calculate the Total Correction Angle?
Closing Angle + Track Error.
