  • Anorexia
    • Low BMI - below 17
    • Restrictive or purging/binging as way of losing weight
    • Intense fear of weight gain
    • Disturbed body image
  • Bulimia
    • Normal BMI
    • Binging
    • Compensatory behaviours to prevent weight gain
  • Binge eating
    • Binging
    • Typically overweight/obese
  • Pica
    • Eating non-nutritive, non-food items
  • Rumination disorder
    • Regurgitation of food
  • Avoidant/restrictive
    • Avoiding certain foods due to sensory issues - taste, smell, texture, colour etc

  • Weight history
  • Menstruation
  • Assessment of Current weight loss behaviours
    • Binge eating
    • Assessment of purging
    • Assessment of food restriction: – useful to refer to a dietitian who specialises in the treatment of eating disorders.
    • Assessment of exercise: refer to a specialist physiotherapist and GP if person engaging in compulsive over exercise.
