A
restrictive- minimal food intake and excessive exercise
Bulimic/binge purge- episodic binge eating with laxative use and induced vomiting

- genetics- if first degree relative has ED
- Personality- anxious, OCD, low self-esteem
- biological- altered brain serotonin function contributes to regulation of apetite, mood and impulse control
- childhood sexual abuse
- over-protective or overcontrolling childhood environment
- culture- in the media

- preoccupation with food (dieting, prepartion of elaborate meal plans for others)
- self-cosncious about eating in public
- vigorous exercise
- constipation

- depressive compulsive symptoms

A
- morbif fear of fatness, distroted body image
- craving for fodd and uncontrolled binge eating (>2000 kcal in a session)
- Purging/vomiting/laxative abuse- or in diabetics omit insulin
- fluctuation (normal or exessive weight)
- preoccupation with body weight and shape
- episodes not exclusively during episodes of AN

- intense self loathing and associated depression

- CBT/IPT
- estabish regular eating programme
- re-establish control of diet
- adress underlying abnormal cognitions - SSRI- fluoxetine (less effective than CBT)
