Eath Science Review Sheet Flashcards
What is an observation?
A statemeent you make using your senses
What is an inference?
An assumption you make based on your obsevations
Classification:
Organizing a group of objects based on their similarities
What is volume?
The amount of space an object takes up
What is equilibrium?
When things are balanced/stable
What is the first step of the rules for reading graphs?
Read the bottom axis first, from left to right.
What is the second step of the rules for reading graphs?
Describe what the line is doing.
What makes graphs useful?
They give a visual to the data, making it easier to understand.
Dependent =
y axis
Independent =
x axis
What happens to the molecules in a warm object?
They spread out and are less dense.
What happens to the molecules in a cold object?
They compact andd are more dense.
If you compress an object, what happens to it’s density?
It increases
If an object expands, what happens to it’s density?
It decreases
Density =
Mass / Volume
