An earthquake is a feeble shaking of the ground caused by sudden slippage of rock masses below or at the surface of the earth
Earthquake
is the practice or preparedness exercise before or if an earthquake happens.
Drill
are the appropriate actions during earthquake to reduce injury and death.
Duck, Cover, and Hold
A pre-arranged signal such as siren/bell should be known to all.
PHASE 1 (ALARM)
In this phase, everyone should perform “duck, cover and hold” under desks, tables or chairs. Remain in this position until the “shaking” stops.
PHASE 2 (RESPONSE)
Once the “shaking” stops, teachers and students should evacuate the school building and proceed using pre-determined routes to go to identified evacuation areas.
PHASE 3 (EVACUATION)
At the designated evacuation area, students must be grouped together according to the class where they belong
PHASE 4 (ASSEMBLY)
Teachers should check and make sure all students are accounted for.
PHASE 5 (HEAD COUNT)
The over-all coordinator will announce the termination of drill or “All clear”.
