Crust

A

The Earth’s crust is the outer layer of the planet. It sustains all life on Earth.

Q

Lithosphere

A

The lithosphere is the solid outer layer of earth that contains all the sediment, rocks and formations that classifies it as the earths hard outer shell.

Q

Tectonic Plate

A

Tectonic plates, large slabs of rock that divide Earth’s crust, move constantly to reshape the Earth’s landscape.

16
Q

Thermosphere

A

The part of outer earth where satellites and space shuttles are found

17
Q

Troposphere

A

troposphere is made up of nitrogen, oxygen, argon an co2. The more closely packed the gases are the denser and stronger the gravity is.

18
Q

Upper Mantle

A

Extends below the crust to 410kms towards the earth’s core. Is composed of various minerals (mostly silicon, oxygen, magnesium and iron). Mostly flowing and molten.

19
Q

Water Vapour

A

Water vapor is a greenhouse gas, meaning it is a gas in Earth’s atmosphere that traps heat. Like carbon dioxide and methane, water vapor is composed of complex molecules that absorb some of the heat radiated from Earth’s surface and re-radiate that energy back to the planet.
