Earth’s closest neighbor. The atmosphere is mostly carbon dioxide. Brightest planet.

Known as the blue planet because of water. Home to all known life in the universe. Around 93 million miles from the sun.
Mars
Has 687 Earth days. Has a polar cap. Nickname is the red planet.
Jupiter
Largest planet in our solar system. Has more than 60 moons. Has high winds and storms.
Saturn
Has the biggest and brightest rings. Very light. Furthest planet from Earth that you can see with your eyes.
Uranus
Axis is tilted. Extremely cold, sometimes called the ice giant. Has the lowest temperature in the solar system.
Neptune
Farthest planet from the sun. Has high winds and storms like Jupiter. 160 Earth years is one year on Neptune.
star
a ball of hot gases that gives off light and other types of energy.
universe
everything that exists throughout space.
galaxy
a star system that contains large groups of stars.
planet
a large nearly round space object that orbits a star.
moon
a large rocky object that orbits a planet.
dwarf planet
an object that orbits the sun, is larger than an asteroid and smaller than a planet, and has a nearly round shape.
