Forfeiture of the lands would not occur as long the buyer paid the annual interest. Principle not due until end of 30 year period

A

pay 5$ filing fee
within 10 days, files copies of application with GLO, $100 filing fee
GLO determines cost of establishing validity of claim, including survey
Applicant has 30 days to pay costs
GLO causes survey to be made within 120 days (60 day extension allowed)
hearing held within 60 days of completion of survey to determine if vacancy exists
If vacancy exists, applicant has 120 days to make payment as determined by School Land Board
Good Faith Claimant may exercise preferential option any time until 90 days after price established
If Good Faith Claimant exercises option, must repay applicant all expense and grant 1/16 royalties on oil, gas and minerals
