Hail rating
Class 3 for all tile, class 4 for some: Class 4 is highest class. Class 3 can withstand a 1.75 inch steel ball being dropped twice in the same spot. 2 inch for class 4.
Freeze-thaw
Tiles are submerged in water and frozen and thawed 70 to 150 times and tested for damage. Passes.
Insulation rating
R2 or higher: measure of thermal resistance. Asphalt shingles are R0.44
Seismic load
Exceeds requirements. Earthquake measurement.
Ventilation
48% reduction in heat transfer into the attic compared to asphalt. Draws air in through eave and exhausts through ridge.

Silica
Mineral compound that makes up sand. Cutting, drilling and grinding materials made of silica, turns it into a dust that is hazardous when breathed.

Yes, Polystick MTS by Polyglass 1.5mm, 60 mils. 2 Sq per roll. Self adhered waterproofing UL for high temp roofs for tile and metal. 180 day UV exposure rating. Resists 265 degrees.
Do we sell weatherblocking?
Yes, Verde. A barrier of moldable material which blocks entry of wind driven moisture at openings between field and trim tile, and tile and flashing. Replaces mortar.
Do we sell flashing?
Yes, Secure Roll. Made by plioseal, has a double release, fully adhered back with hydrophobic adhesive allowing for wet install. Moldable adhesive flashing.

What is slate?
Fine grained metamorphic rock, split into smooth flat pieces and used as roofing tiles.
