Steps to driving change with workforce

A

1) Acknowledge that there will be resistance and seek to understand the forces that are driving it. By doing so, efforts can be directed towards reducing them.
2) Understand the human nature behind suspicion of change.
3) Demonstrate clear commitment to the change from the senior level. Allow others to empathise with yourself by understanding how the change impacts you personally.
4) Establish a time frame for transition that is split into key components.
5) Unfreeze - Move - Freeze model (break up existing patterns, move people towards new paradigms and then locking in the new behaviours).
6) Link personal success to the change
7) Appoint ‘champions’ to promote the change that act as local points of expertise to give people faster lines of communication
8) Post implementation review to address remaining issues and take learning into the next major change management program.
