Non-verbal: eyebrows, pursed lips, eye contact, physical appearance, ignoring, pitch, tone, posture, gesture

Hearing loss: don’t turn away, don’t yell

Visual loss: don’t come up behind them, don’t yell

Speech and language deficits: Aphasia:: contribute to them receiving and sending info. Slow down and present in simpler terms. Give time to thinks about it.

Serious mental illness: give them space, make sure to keep them and ourselves safe. Communicate empathy in their world. Ex see spiders on the wall, empathize with them

Cognitive impairment: perceptions deficit, memory loss: slow down, small steps, not remembering, simple terms
