What does Mail-enabled security group do?
Can be used for sending email. However, you can also assign group permissions; for example, to Exchange Public Folders or OneDrive.
When you want to use the group for both permissions and mail distribution.
Security group
Can be used to grant access permissions to resources such as OneDrive.
A Microsoft 365 group consists of the following:
a shared Outlook inbox
a shared calendar
a SharePoint document library
Planner
Power BI
Yammer (if the group was created from Yammer)
a Team (if the group was created from Teams)
a roadmap (if you have Project for the web)
Do I have to use security groups for my organization to be secure?
No. Security groups are just another way to manage security for your organization. You can always grant user permissions and access to sites individually. But with security groups, you can easily manage larger groups of users.
a request for mail.adatum.local would be redirected to an internal IP address, such as 192.168.20.10
Conversely, a request for mail.adatum.com may go to 131.107.43.19, which is the company’s external IP address for that host name.
You want to add a new custom domain where the internal DNS zone and external DNS zone have the same name. What should you do?
Configure Split DNS
Explain External DNS
It’s like when you write a letter to your friend. You put their name and address on the envelope, and the mail carrier knows where to take it.
Explain Internal DNS
helps computers find things they need, like websites, emails, or other important stuff, by translating names into the right places
What is WHOIS DNS?
go to whois.com to see what that domain is registered too.
You must add a DNS record for Exchange Online that’s used by Outlook clients to locate the Autodiscover (Autodiscover automatically connects outlook to exchange online) service in Microsoft 365. Which DNS record type should you create? MX, CNAME, TXT?
CNAME
