Dysphagia?
Difficulty swallowing
Dysphagia high dysphagia?
tend to have problems initiating the swallow or immediately upon swallowing
Dysphagia low dysphagia?
feel that food gets stuck for a few seconds after swallowing
Dysphagia what is Odynophagia?
pain when swallowing, can be mailgnancy but most commonly infection. i.e. candidiasis.
Dysphagia whats a globus?
Common sensation of having a lump in the throat without true dysphagia, entirely benign.
Dysphagia high dysphagia location?
oropharyngeal and upper oesophageal, more likely to be generalised/systemic neuromuscular disease.
Dysphagia lower dysphagia location?
lower oesophageal, more likely to be local obstruction lesion.
Dysphagia new onset in elderly?
New onset dysphagia in middle-aged to elderly patients is carcinoma until proven otherwise.
