what is batik?
using hot wax as a resist on fabric
what is the process of hand block printing?
- printing ink applied to wood stencil
- wood block pressed down on fabric
- leaves an image on the fabric
what are the pros and cons of hand block printing?
✔️can easily repeat the designs
❌takes a long time to make the blocks
what is the process of flat-bed screen printing?
- cut out a stencil
- pour ink onto screen
- press a squeegee back and forth across the frame
- lift screen and a design is left
what are the pros and cons of flat-bed screen printing?
✔️quick
✔️can make intricate designs
❌making the stencils and cutting them takes a long time
