1) socialisation: socialisation teaches individuals the shared norms, values, and beliefs of their society, allowing most members of society to agree with what is right and wrong.l
2) social control: social control helps to ensure that individuals conform to the shared norms and values.

This promotes social cohesion, as individuals feel part of a collective group with common goals and understanding.

this promotes unity and maintains social cohesion
what did Durkheim emphasize the idea of?

what is the collective conscience?
A set of shared beliefs, values and norms
what does collective conscience enable individuals to feel and what does it maintain?
These shared beliefs gave individuals a sense of belonging and guides their actions. This maintains social harmony.

the government, law enforcement written rules.
what is informal social control?
unwritten rules and expectations enforced by families friends & etc

why does every society have crimes being committed?
No society can have total conformity, because of individual differences and diverse experiences.
