How does it present?
A
Central type – develops near the nipple. Usually solitary and arise in period nearing menopause.
Peripheral type – often multiple papillomas arising at peripheral breasts and usually found in younger women. (Peripheral associated with a higher risk of malignancy).
Most common cause of bloody nipple discharge in women aged 20-40 and generally do not show up on mammography due to their small size. Often too small to be palpated.

How would you investigate?
A
Galactogram and biopsy to rule out malignancy.

Treatments?
A
Excision sometimes performed – elective surgery.
