DTS Rules Flashcards
DTS Rules
What is the minimum retracement requirement for Wave X?
70% of Wave W’s price movement. Wave X cannot be a Triangle, double, or triple.
DTS Rules
What is the maximum price range for Wave X?
150% of both the previous wave (W) and ensuing wave (Y). All internal data points are considered.
DTS Rules
What is the time constraint for Wave X?
Maximum time = 10x the duration of Wave W. No minimum time.
DTS Rules
What restrictions apply to Wave Y?
Cannot be a double, triple, or Triangle (in Triple Zigzags).
If Wave W is a Zigzag, Y cannot be a Zigzag.
Must be ≥ Wave X in price (unless Y is a Triangle).
Wave C of Y cannot fail.
DTS Rules
What limits apply to Wave Y’s price/time?
No more than 5x Wave X or W in price and time. No minimum time constraint.
DTS Rules
Rules for Wave XX (Triple Sideways only):
Must retrace ≥70% of Wave Y.
Max retracement = 150% of prior (Y) and next (Z) waves.
Cannot be a Triangle, double, or triple.
DTS Rules
Rules for Wave Z (Triple Sideways only):
Cannot be a double, triple, or Zigzag (if Y is a Zigzag).
Must be ≥ Wave XX in price.
Max price/time = 5x XX, Y, X, or W.
If Y > W in price, Z’s max price = 2x W’s movement.
DTS Rules
What is prohibited in all D3/T3 patterns?
Triangles in specific waves (W/X/XX).
Back-to-back or double failures.
Zigzags in Y/Z if prior wave was a Zigzag.
DTS Rules
How is Wave Z limited if Wave Y exceeds Wave W in price?
Wave Z’s maximum price movement = 2x the price movement of Wave W.
DTS Rules
What is a key labeling difference between D3 and T3?
D3 = w-x-y; T3 = w-x-y-xx-z.
DTS Rules
What are Double (D3) and Triple (T3) Sideways patterns?
Corrective patterns composed of 2-3 sub-patterns joined by an x Wave. Doubles are labeled w-x-y, Triples as w-x-y-xx-z. Rare, with Triples being rarer than Doubles.
DTS Rules
Which patterns are prohibited for Wave W?
Triangles, doubles, or triples. Wave C of W also cannot be a “failure” (truncated).
