Adenosine Contraindications
A
- Hx 2nd or 3rd degree AV block or sick sinus syndrome (except with functioning artificial pacemaker)
- Sinus node disease
- Chronic obstructive lung disease (asthma)
- Known hypersensitivity

A
- Current dipyramole therapy
- Pts on carbamazepine
Other:
- Heart transplant pts (1/2 doses)
- Significant caffeine (may need higher doses)

A
- Hypovolaemic shock without adequate fluid replacement

- Elderly patients
- Patients with cardiovascular disease
- Patients on monoamine oxidase (MOA) inhibitors
- Patients on beta blockers may require higher doses of

Amiodarone Contraindications
A
- VT
- inadequate perfusion and rapidly deteriorating
- pregnancy - Known hypersensitivity to amiodarone or iodine
- TCA overdose

- Hypersensitivity to aspirin/salicylates
- Actively bleeding peptic ulcers
- Bleeding disorders
- Suspected dissecting AAA
- Chest pain associated with psychostimulant OD if Bp >160
