Critical Path Method
A schedule showing crucial tasks that are dependent activities tied together.
Tasks/activities that must be completed before the next task can start
Float
The amount of time a task can be delayed without causing a delay in the overall schedule
Milestone Chart
-Small projects and few participants
-List of deadlines and assignment of responsibilities for each task
Bar/Gnatt Chart
-Includes time across the top axis and tasks down the left side.
- Bars are used to show how long each ask is expected to take
- Dependencies are critical are shown with through arrows
- Milestones shown with diamonds (used for longer projects)

- used to assign tasks to specific team members
Cost Analysis
Unit cost Method - used by contractors and is considered the most accurate method because they cost out every line item Only be done in Construction Doc.
Life cycle analysis (LCA)
- considers the initial cost and the long term expense of an iem or system
-Long term will outweigh the initial cost
Hard costs
- expenses directly associated with construction including material, labor, contingency and contractor’s overhead and profit

Set of contracts developed by contractor and trade group to end what they see as bias towards the architect in the AIA DOCUMENTS
