What are causes of TM perforation?
A
Ear infection
Injury to the eardrum
Changes in pressure whilst flying or diving
Sudden loud noise

What are symptoms of a perforated eardrum?
A
- Sudden hearing loss
- Earache or pain in ear
- Itching in ear
- Fluid leaking in ear
- High temperature
- Tinnitus

What is the management for a dry TM perforation?
A
- Heals in a few weeks without treatment
- Surgery is called a myringoplasty (tissue from behind ear used to patch hole)
