Amoxicillin is a penicillin based antibiotic. It is used to fight bacterial infections such as tonsillitis, bronchitis, gonorrhoea and phenomena.
What is ASPIRIN? What are the short and long term uses of aspirin?
Aspirin is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug.
In the short term it is used to treat minor pain, fever and swelling.
In the long term it has an anti platelet effect which reduces the clotting factors within the blood.
What is BENZYLPENICILLIN? What is is used for?
Benzylpenicillin is a penicillin based antibiotic used to fight bacterial infections such as strep throat, syphilis, dypyheria, and pneumonia.
What is CHLORAMPHENICOL? What is it used for?
Chloramphenicol is an antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections such as meningitis, plague, cholera and typhoid. It can also be used as an ointment for the eyes to treat conjunctivitis.

Chlorphenamine is a first generation antihistamine which is used to prevent and reduce the symptoms of allergic reactions such as hay fever, food allergy and drug reactions.

Clarithromicin is a non penicillin based antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections. It is predominantly used in the treatment of respiratory tract infections such as pneumonia as well as skin infections such as cellulitis.

Co-amoxiclav is a penicillin based antibiotic which is used to treat bacterial infections such as bronchitis, pneumonia, sinusitis or tonsillitis. It is a combination of amoxicillin and clavulanic acid.

Codeine phosphate blocks pain pathways to the brain and therefore acts as an effective pain relief medication. It can be used to treat mild to moderate pain as well as acute diarrhoea.

Doxycycline is an antibiotic which can be used to treat infection caused by either bacteria or protozoa. Doxycycline can be used to treat chest infections, skin infections, dental infections and sexually transmitted diseases. It can be used to help the prevention of malaria when travelling overseas.

Entonox is a gaseous substance used to treat mild to moderate pain. It is a combination of nitrogen and oxygen. It is commonly used within childbirth, following trauma or during end of life care.

Flucloxacillin is a penicillin based antibiotic drug used to combat bacterial infections. Used most commonly for skin, wound and chest infections.

Fluoresceine is a dye trace used within eye examinations. It can be used to detect foreign bodies within the eye or to establish corneal damage.
What is GLYCERIN TRINITRATE? What is it used for?
Glycerin trinitrate is a nitrate used to relax muscles within the walls of blood vessels. This reduces the strain upon the heart. It is therefore used to reduce blood pressure, prevent chest pain and help to combat heart failure.
What is IBUPROFIN? What is it used for?
Ibuprofin is a commonly used analgesic used to combat mild to moderate pain as well as reduce inflammation.
