Influenza (Flu)

Given every 3-4 weeks until 2 vaccinations with the second being ~16 weeks old. Then annually until 2, and then every 3 years.

Lyme
Lifestyle vax and spread via ticks. Symptoms include lameness, swollen lymphs/joints, fatigue, and loss of appetite. Booster 3-4 weeks after first vaccine, then annual.

Annual SQ injection for dogs over 1 year to prevent heartworms and hookworms
Feline Viral Rhinotrachetis Calicivirus Panleukopenia (FVRCP)
Required for boarding and 2 boosters needed (second after 16 weeks old).

Rabies
Core vaccine required by law for every pet and boarding. Given yearly after 12 weeks of age. Zoonotic
Leptospirosis
Lifestyle vaccine. Bacteria found in soil/stagnant water and spread by wildlife/livestock. Kidney and/or liver failure. Booster 3-4 weeks after first vaccine, then give annually. Zoonotic
Feline Leukemia (FELV)
Lifestyle vax. Symptoms include weight loss, lethargy, diarrhea, bad breathing, pale gums, and yellow color. Booster 3-4 weeks after initial vaccine. Good for 1 year after first series then every 2 years. Non-zoonotic
Bordetella
Core intranasal (IN) vaccine that protects against parainfluenza and adenovirus as well. Don’t booster, and give every 6 months. Required for boarding and non-zoonotic.
Injectable Bordetella
Core vaccine for dogs that is specific to disease. Booster 3-4 weeks after initial vaccination at over 8 weeks old, then give annually. Non-zoonotic
Simparica
Oral medication given to dogs over 6 months to treat fleas and ticks.
Tick Borne Illness
Lyme, anaplasma, and ehrlicia. Symptoms include muscle pain, limping, seizures, depression, facial discharge, and weight loss.
