What is a stimulant and examples
Drug that speeds up communication between brain and central nerve system. Increases confidence and energy. Side effects include sweating, faster breathing, increased heart rate, dry mouth, dilated pupils. Examples include meth and cocaine
What is a depressant
Slow down activity of the brain and central nerve system. Usually taken as a relaxant. Alter sense perception. Side effects include red eyes, anxiety and decreased heart rate. Examples include cannabis
What is a hallucinogen
Interferes with the communication between the brain and central nerve system creating distortions in reality. Side effects include rapid heartbeat, agitation, increase body temperature, sweating, panic attacks, paranoia. impaired coordination. Examples include ketamine and Acid
