Activated Charcoal
1g/kg mixed with at least 6 tp 8oz. of water
Adenosine
6mg followed by rapid push of 20cc of NS, then 12 and 12
Albuterol
2.5mg in 3ml NS via neb.
Aspirin
160 to 325mg PO (chewable)
Aspirin Contraindications
Active ulcer disease, recent surgeries
Amiodarone
30 units IV over 2-5 mins
Atropine for Symptomatic Bradycardia
.5 to 1mg IV/ 2mg EMT. May repeat in 5min up to 1mg
Atropine for Organophosphate poisoning
2 to 5 mg IV/IM/IO 10 to 15 mins
Atropine Pedi
0.05mg/kg IV/IM/IO 10 to 15 mins
Atrovent (Ipratropium)
500mcg in 2.5 to 3ml NS via Neb or two strays from metered dose inhaler
Atrovent (Ipratropium) Pedi
125 to 250mcg in 2.5 to 3ml NS via neb or 1 to 2 sprays of metered dose inhaler. Sometimes also given.25ml in 1.25ml via neb
Atrovent Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to soya lecithin or related food products such as soybean and peanut.
Calcium Chloride
25 to 50mg IM
Calcium Chloride Pedi
0.5mg/kg IM or 1mg/kg PR
Calcium Chloride Contraindications
V-Fib, Hypercalcemia, and possible digitalis toxicity
Dextrose
25g D-5w (50ml) IV
Dextrose Pedi
2ml/kg of 25% solution IV
Diazepam
5 to 10mg IV/IM
Diazepam Pedi
.5 to 2mg IV/IM
Digoxin
0.25 to 0.5 mg slowly IV
Digoxin Pedi
10 to 50mcg/kg IV
Diphenhydramine
25 to 50mg IV/IM
Dopamine
2 to 5mcg/kg/min up to 20, titrated to effect
Epi for Arrest
1mg of 1:10,000 IV every 3 to 5 mins (ET 2 to 2.5mg 1:1,000)
Epi for Arrest Pedi
0.01 mg/kg 1:10,000 (ET 0.1mg/kg 1:1,000)
