-depressed mental status
-agitation secondary to shock and hypoxia

Haloperidole (Adverse Reactions/Side Effects)
seizures, sedations, confusion, restlessness, extrapyramidal reactions, dystonia, respiratory depression, hypotension, tachycardia, orthostatic hypotension, sudden cardiac death, constipations, dry mouth, nausea, vomiting, drooling, blurred vision
Haloperidole (Dosage & Admin)
Adult: 2-5 mg IM (every 30-60 min until sedation achieved)
Pediatric: not recommended

Onset: 10 min
Peak Effect: 30 to 45 min
Duration: generally 12 to 24 hours

-hypersensitivity
-conditions where HTN is hazardous to Pt

HTN, dysrhythmia, bronchodilation, respiratory depression

increases effects of opiates, barbiturates

Adult/Pediatric: 1-2 mg/kg IV push over 1-2 min

Onset: 30 sec

Duration: 5-10 min
