    • post operatively

    • also found in combo (eg Tylenol/Codeine) Schedule III
  • Hydrocodone (vicodine)
    • in combo with acetaminophen Schedule III
  • Fentanyl (sublimaze, duragesic)
  • methadone (dolophine)
  • oxycodone (percodan, percocet, tylox, oxycontin)

  • Pentazocine (talwin) Schedule IV
    • with naloxone if taken oral good
    • if taken inj the naloxone works by replacing the pentazocine
  • buturphanol (stadol) not scheduled
  • nalbuphine (nubain) not scheduled

Naloxene (narcan) pure antagonist

  • IV only works within minutes
  • blocks receptor pull narcotic off of the receptor and replace itself instanteously
  • extremely short acting
