Rx
1-2 puffs as needed for relief, 1-2 puffs every 4-6 hours for prevention of bronchospasm. Max 8 puffs

Shake the inhaler.
Breathe in and breathe out completely.
Place the lips tightly around the mouthpiece.
Inhale deeply while activating the inhaler.
Hold breath 10 seconds before exhaling.
Clean the mouthpiece before and after each use.

FLUTICASONE+SALMETEROL (ADVAIR DISKUS)

Rx
Use 1 inhalation 2 times in the morning and evening, about 12 hours apart.

a. Hold in a level, flat position with the mouthpiece towards you. Slide the lever away from the mouthpiece as far as it will go until it clicks.
b. Breathe out (exhale) as long as you can. Do not breathe into the mouthpiece.
c. Put the mouthpiece to your lips. Breathe in quickly and deeply. Do not breathe in through your nose
d. Remove the DISKUS and hold your breath for about 10 seconds.
e. Breathe out slowly as long as you can
f. Place your thumb in the thumb grip and slide it back towards you until it clicks shut.
g. Rinse your mouth with water without swallowing after each dose. This will help lessen the chance of getting a yeast infection (thrush) in your mouth and throat.

Rx
itching, redness, dryness, crusting, scaling, inflammation, and discomfort of various skin conditions, including psoriasis and eczema

Apply topically once or twice daily.
Do not apply it to other areas of your body or use it to treat other skin conditions.
Wash your hands before and after use.
Apply a small amount of ointment to cover the affected area of skin with a thin even film and rub it in gently.
Do not cover with a bandage or dressing.
Do not get this medicine in your eyes. If you do, rinse out with plenty of cool tap water. Do not use for more than 14 days.

KETOCONAZOLE CREAM

A

fungal or yeast infections and treat seborrheic dermatitis

Wash your hands before and after use. If you are treating your hands, only wash your hands before use.
Do not use on healthy skin or over large areas of skin. Do not get this medication in your eyes. If you do, rinse it out with plenty of cool tap water. Keep taking it.

Apply a thin film to the affected area and rub gently once a day for 2 to 6 weeks.
Do not bandage or wrap the skin being treated unless directed to do so by your care team.
Skin must be dry.

A

Rx

allergic and inflammatory conditions of the external ear canal

3-4 drops 2-3 times a day, then maybe reduced gradually
a. Shake suspension prior
b. Warm the preparation by holding the bottle in the hands for 1–2 minutes prior to administration to avoid dizziness
c. Dry and clean the ear canal prior to administration. The pH of otic preparations should be neutral or acidic
d. Lie with the affected ear upward and instill drops. For acute otitis externa, pull outer ear lobe upward and backward to facilitate entry of the drug into the ear canal.
e. Keep affected ear upward for ≥60 seconds following drug administration If necessary, repeat procedure for the opposite ear.
f. Use otic corticosteroids sparingly to prevent the accumulation of excess debris in the ear canal.

TOBRAMYCIN OPTHALMIC DROPS

Eye infection

Applied every 4 to 8 hours
a. Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water before and after use
b. Avoid touching the dropper tip against your eye or anything else
c. While tilting head back, pull down the lower lid of your eye with your index finger to form a pocket. d. While looking up, gently squeeze the dropper so that a single drop falls into the pocket made by the lower eyelid.
e. Close your eye for 2 to 3 minutes and tip your head down as though looking at the floor. Try not to blink or squeeze your eyelids.
f. Wipe any excess liquid from your face with a tissue.
g. Wait at least 5 minutes before instilling the next drop.
Do not wipe or rinse the dropper tip.

TERRAMYCIN OPTHALMIC OINTMENT

A

Rx antibiotic
local treatment of superficial ocular infections

Apply a small amount (1 cm) of the ointment into the lower lid. If you have swollen eyelids, remove the scales and crusts before applying the medicine.
Use 4 to 6 times daily and continue until the infection is cleared and healing is complete.
Avoid contamination of the tip of the tube when applying the ointment.

A

Naturally moisturizes dry, crusted and stuffy nostrils due to allergy, colds, sinusitis and overuse of antihistamine and decongestants.

Instill 2 sprays in each nostril 3-4 times a day or as needed.

b. Shake the bottle
c. Stay in an upright position with the head tilted forward slightly.
d. Insert tip of spray bottle into one nostril, blocking the other nostril gently with the other hand.
e. Relax and breathe out slowly.

A

Mild to moderate pain including migraine headache period pain and/or fever.

Swallow whole with a drink of water, milk or juice or food. Do not chew, break, crush or suck them as this could irritate your mouth or throat.

Don’t take more than 3 tablets in 24 hours.
Short-lived pain like toothache or period pain, you may only need to take it for a day or two.

Rx vaginal yeast infections

Unwrap one tablet and place it in the applicator.
Lie on your back with your knees drawn upward and spread apart or squat.
Gently insert the applicator tip high in the vagina and push the plunger to release the tablet into the vagina.
Gently remove the applicator.
Wash the applicator well with warm water and soap.
Finish the full course. Do not stop using if your menstrual period starts during the time of treatment

Apply 2-3 times daily to the affected area prior evacuation of bowel.

Screw the applicator on the cream. And insert the applicator into the hole and squeeze gently for 3-4 seconds.
After dosing, remove and wipe off the excess on the applicator tip. Unscrew and wash it well with soap and water.

Do not exceed more than a week.

BISACODYL SUPPOSITORY

A

Occasional constipation

Wash your hands before and after use.
Wet the tip of the suppository with cold tap water to make it easier to use.
Lie on your side and raise your knee to your chest.
Using your finger push the suppository, with the pointed end first, into the rectum.
Try and keep the suppository in your rectum for 15 to 20 minutes. If you feel it must come out at once, it was not inserted high enough and should be pushed higher.
It can cause a bowel movement within 15 to 60 minutes
Do not use bisacodyl more than once a day or for more than 1 week to avoid dependency.

A

Angina

By mouth as needed at the first sign of an angina attack (chest pain or tightness), or 5 to 10 minutes before an event likely to produce chest pain.
Place one tablet under your tongue and let it dissolve.
Do not swallow whole. Replace the dose if you accidentally swallow it.
It will help if your mouth is not dry. Saliva around the tablet will help it to dissolve more quickly.
Do not eat or drink, smoke or chew tobacco while a tablet is dissolving.
Sit down when taking this medication.

Bite down slowly until you feel a tingling in your mouth.
“park” the gum between the inside of your cheek and your gums. Hold it for about a minute to let the nicotine absorb into your body.
Repeat this “chew” and “park” process until the tingling stops (usually about 30 minutes), occasionally changing where you “park” the gum in your mouth.
Do not eat or drink for 15 minutes before or during use.
