Use - Bacterial Infection

A

Action - Inhibit the creation of the cell wall
Contra Indication - allergies, or allergies to similar drugs like beta-lactams
Route - oral, Intravenous
Symptoms - Hives, Difficulty Breathing, Swelling, Fever, Pain
Dosage - Adults- 500 mg every 12 hrs or 875 mg if respiratory tract or if severe. Children- 25 mg every 12 hrs or 45 mg if respiratory tract or if severe.

A

Contra Indication - allergies to the drug, or if you have developed stevens johnsons syndrome after taking penicillin
Route - Oral, Intravenous
Symptoms - Headache, Black/Hairy Tongue, Pain/Swelling on IV Site, Mild Diarrhea
Dosage - 125-250mg every 6-8 hrs or 250-500mg every 6 hrs if severe respiratory

Use - Bacterial Infection

A

Action - treats bacterial infections
Contra indication - Allergy to the drug or people with heart problem
Route - Oral, Intravenous
Symptoms - serious adverse reaction tendinitis, tendon rupture, peripheral neuropathy, central nervous system effects, exacerbation of myasthenia gravis
Dosage - Tablets come in 400 mg every 24 hrs and can be taken w or w/o food (drink fluids liberally), IV solutions come in ratio of 1:10 to 10:1; QF: Do not take with antacids. May cause photosensitivity. Black box warning for tendon rupture.

Use - Bacterial Infection

A

Action - inhibit the growth of bacteria
Contra indication - Allergy to the drug and its counterparts
Route - Oral, Intravenous, topical
Symptoms - nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, headache, abnormal liver tests
Dosage - Oral (Tabs) and susp, usually comes in 250 mg, 500-750 mg doses typically every 12 hours; QF: Do not take with anatacids, may cause photosensitivity, black box warning for tendon rupture

Dosage - Dosage ammt varies from 250mg, 500 mg, to 750 mg, most last for around 7-14 days while others give you a limited tablet supply count; QF: do not take with antacids, may cause photosensitivity, black box warning for tendon rupture

stinging, and irritation
Dosage - One drop per each eye 3 times a day for a week; QF: Opthalmic

A

Actions - treats symptoms of bacterial infections by stopping its growth
Contra indications - Allergy to this drugs or other similar drugs
Route - Oral
Symptoms - severe stomach pain, diarrhea that is watery or bloody, unusual tiredness,
feeling light-headed or short of breath, easy bruising, unusual bleeding, purple or red spots under your skin, seizure, pale skin, cold hands and feet, yellowed skin, dark colored urine, fever,
weakness , pain in your side or lower back,
painful urination,
Dosage - 250 mg/6 hrs or 500 mg/12 hrs, treatment last for 7-14 days; QF: 3-7% cross-sensitivity with Penicillin allergy

Use - Bacterial Infection

A

Action - Treats bacterial infections
Contra indications - Allergies to the Omnicef or cephalosporin drugs
Route - Oral
Symptoms - diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, indigestion, headache, dizziness,
diaper rash in an infant taking liquid cefdinir itching, or skin rash,
Dosage - 13+ 300-600 mg from 5-10 days, 6 mon to 12 yo 7-14 mg every 5-10 days, pediatric chart depends on weight MAX 600 mg if weigh under 43 kg

Contra indications - sensitivity to tetracycline
Route - Oral, Parental, or IV

Contra indications - allergy to clindamycin or lincomycin
