Stay in the proper lane & slow down to make the pass easier.

When driving through a water puddle, a motorist should test the brakes by pumping them.

- Try to cooperate with other motorists
- Drive slowly and be careful of vehicles and pedestrians
- Look at least 12 seconds ahead

- Avoid using the brakes
- Take your foot OFF the gas pedal
- Turn in the direction the REAR of the vehicle is skidding
- Look in the direction you want to go

- Turn the wheel slowly towards the roadway

- Shift to a lower gear
- Pump the brakes several times (doing this could build up enough pressure to make the vehicle stop)

- Hold the steering wheel firmly
- Keep the vehicle straight
- GRADUALLY remove foot from the gas pedal
- Do NOT use the brakes
