White curb
Stop only to pick up or drop off passengers or mail
Yellow curb
Stop no longer than the time posted to load or unload passengers / freight. Drivers of non-commercial vehicles are usually required to stay with the vehicle
Red curb
No stopping, standing, or parking (except for buses, if marked)
Blue curb
Parking only for disabled persons
Acceleration Skids
- Do not apply brakes
- Ease off accelerator
- Straighten wheels as vehicle begins to straighten iteself out
Locked Wheel Skids
- Take your foot off the brakes
- Straighten front wheels
- If no anti-lock brakes: gradually apply break, unless break goes to ground, then quickly pump the brake pedal to build pressure
Accelerator malfunction
- Shift to neutral.
- Apply the brakes.
- Keep your eyes on the road.
- Look for an alternate route away from traffic or look for a way out.
- Warn other drivers by honking and turning on your emergency lights.
- Try to drive the car safely off the road.
- Stop and then turn off the ignition. Do not turn off the ignition while
moving.
Flashing red
Stop - may proceed when it’s safe
Flashing yellow
Proceed with caution

Traffic signal not working
Proceed as if the intersection has a 4-way stop

You may pass if the broken line is on your side of the roadway
