Are you allowed to stand/walk with your hands in your pockets?
No, but you may store/remove items from pockets.
When are you allowed to use personal electronic media devices?
In an emergency, sending/receiving official notifications, or in authorized circumstances such as PT.
Are you allowed to consume food and beverages while walking in uniform?
NO.
When are the only times you are allowed to engage in public displays of affection?
At weddings, graduations, or promotions.
Are wigs/hairpieces allowed?
Yes, but only if they are clean, fit properly, are good quality, and meet the same standards as natural hair.
Are women allowed to wear shaved heads, high and tights, or flat tops?
NO.
Are faddish, extreme hairstyles allowed?
NO.
What are the length/bulk standard for men’s hair?
Men’s hair may not be longer than 1 1/4 inches in bulk, cannot touch the ears, and must have a tapered appearance on the back and sides. The hair must not extend below the point of termination (HAIRLINE).
When are men allowed to wear beards?
Men are only allowed to wear beards when they have been given permission by a commander for medical reasons, and the proper medical paperwork has been provided.
What are the length/bulk standards for women’s hair?
Women’s hair must be within 3 1/2 inches in bulk and cannot extend below the shirt collar.
Are women allowed to wear hair accessories?
Yes, but only as long the accessories are conservative, and match the hair color. Black hair accessories are allowed with all hair colors.
Can eye glasses/ sun glasses be worn around the neck or on top of the head while in uniform?
NO!
Are headphones, earpieces or Bluetooth devices allowed to be worn while in uniform?
NO!
When in uniform, what color must umbrellas be and which hand do you carry them with?
Solid black, and must be carried in the left hand.
Are cosmetics allowed by males?
NO!
What type of piercings ARE allowed while in uniform?
Authorized earrings.
Are you allowed to wear earrings off-duty while on a military installation?
NO!
How many earrings can female members wear per ear?
ONE!
Where are tattoos NOT allowed?
The head, the neck, and the tongue
What do you wear with the Service Uniform (Class B’s)?
Light blue short/long sleeve collared shirt. For the long sleeve shirt, men must wear a tie and women must wear a tie tab.
