What does Freud argues happens to some dreams that are harmful

A

Freud argues that some dreams are simply too harmful to even try and make sense of, so the superego actively erases dreams as soon as you wake, protecting the conscious mind.
This explains why the majority of dreams are difficult to recall

Freud believed that the superego, in an effort to protect the fragile ego from the disturbing desires of the id, used a number of defense mechanisms during dream work
