Drawings, symbols and scales Flashcards
Describe an architectural plan/as fitted drawing
Most likely to be encountered by an installation electrician They show the layout of the building and position of accessories and equipment Will show a scale drawing of all equipment and allow a designer to determine materiel requirements for a job The electrician will use scale architectural plans to position equipment in real size accordingly
Describe a circuit diagram
A circuit diagram is a representation of a circuit arrangement that permits an easier understanding of how the circuit works
Describe a wiring diagram
A wiring diagram shows how a circuit is actually wired in practice. Can make it harder to understand how the circuit functions
Describe a block diagram
A block diagram does not show individual conductors or cables but the sequence of equipment instead
Describe schematic diagrams
Similar to circuit diagrams in that they show how a system works rather than how it is wired Generally used on larger control systems as they can make fault finding much simpler
What is a bar chart used for?
A bar chart is most commonly used for planning the sequence of works Can aid in allocation of labour and ordering of material to be carried out
