Playwright
The title given to the author of the play
Act
A main division of a drama
Scene
A subdivision of of an act in which no shift of time or location happen
Aside
A brief remark, made by a character, meant to be heard by the audience
Soliloquy
A speech delivered by a character, who is alone on stage, to know what is going on in their mind
Dramatic irony
The tension created when the audience knows something that the characters don’t
Tragedy
A subcategory of drama in which the main character dies in the end
Oxymoron
A figure of speech the combines contracting terms
Metaphor
A figure of speech in which one thing is compared to another
Malapropisms
Misusing words in a humorous way
Pun
A play on words based on different meanings of words that sound alike
Innuendo
An indirect, subtle, usually insulting hint
