Script
The text of a play that shows the words and actions.
Stage Directions
Notes in the script about how the play is to be performed or staged
Set
The construction that set the scene for the play
Props
Movable objects the actors use onstage
Tragedy
A work that ends in catastrophe, disaster,or great misfortune for the main character.
Comedy
A play that has a happy ending
Monologue
A long, uninterrupted speech spoken by a character to other characters.
Chorus
A group of performers who comment on the action
Soliloquy
A speech spoken by a character who is alone onstage; feelings are revealed to the audience
Aside
A brief remark where a character expresses private thoughts for the audience, not other characters
