Technical Drawing

All letters having strokes “accented” or made up of thick and thin elements
Roman
All letters composed of uniform width elements
Gothic
recommended by ANSI ( American National Standards Institute) as it easier to read and letter than other styles of lettering
Single Stroke Gothic
All styles of Old English Text whose elements are made with styles C or D Speedball pens
Text Letters
Space for lettering is adequate
Normal Letters
Letters wider than normal letters
Extended Letters
Letters that are narrower than nowmal. Used when space is limited
Compressed/Condensed Letters
Letters with very thin stems
Lightface
Letters having heavy stems
Boldface
Extremely light horizontal lines to regulate the height of letters
Guide Lines
The uppermost horizontal guide line drawin for uppercase letters and stroke of letters that extends up which is known as “ASCENDER”
Cap line
Horizontal guideline drawn between the cap line and the base line used to determine the general height of lower case letters
Waist Line
Horinzal guideline where all the letters rest or stand
Base line
Horizontal guideline drawn for letters with stokes that extend down known as”DESCENDER”
