Define attachment theory
The close bond shared between an infant and their primary caregiver, also the tendency to seek emotionally supportive relationships in adulthood

The infant does not seek closeness or contact with the caregiver and treats them like a stranger. About 20-22% of 1 year olds

Secure Attachment (group B)
An infant who has formed a secure attachment shown a balance between dependence and exploration. Caregiver is a safe base for the infant and dependable. About 55-75% of 1-year olds
Insecure Resistant Attachment (group C)
The infant appears anxious even when near the caregiver. Caregiver not responsive to infant needs. Wants to be picked up but then tries to squirm away
