Method of the physics practical

A
  1. Clap the metre ruler vertically in the clamp stand as shown in the diagram
  2. Flatten and even out the sand in the tray so that surface of the sand is flat

3.hold the steel ball at a height of 100cm alongside the ruler

4.drop the steel ball

  1. Use a ruler to measure and record the width of the crater made by the steel ball
  2. Repeat steps 2-5 another 4 times to get 5 sets of results
  3. Repeat steps 2-6 dropping the steel ball from the heights of 80,60,40 and 20 cm
  4. Calculate the mean values
