Brake Test

A
  1. Place wheel chokes on both sides of tire.
  2. Turn on battery and ignition switch. Verify gauges and warning signals are working
  3. Verify APV is out and parking brake is applied.
  4. Release the parking brake and allow the air tanks to settle.
  5. Observe the air gauges for 1 minute for air loss <3 psi in 60 seconds.
  6. Apply steady pressure to break pedal for 60 second with <3 psi air loss after tanks settle.
  7. Fan break pedal to bleed air. Observe A/V low air alarms for accurate activation. Between 60-90psi.
  8. Continue gaming brake until APV pops and engages parking brake. Between 20-40 psi.
  9. Start motor and turn on high idle to reach 1200 rpms. Pressure must rise from 50 psi to 90 psi in <3 minutes. Air pressure must not exceed 135 psi.

Cut in pressure
Compressor should engage at approximately 100 psi.

Compressors that engage at < 95 psi need defect written. < 80 psi is OOS.

Cut Out pressure: between 120-135 psi. > 135 psi cut out is OOS

Low pressure alarm. A/V alarms activate between 60-90 psi. < 60 psi activation needs defect written.

Air Leakage: not more that 3 psi per minute.

With air at 0 psi brakes must be serviceable within 60 seconds.

No drag and able to come to full stop!
