What is a quantal dose response curve?
A
relate the FREQUENCY at which a given dose gives an all or none effect and DO NOT relate magnitude of effect to dose.
Many target responses in biology and medicine are QUANTAL in nature: they happen or they do not happen—or a measurement is made that only provides a quantal interpretation

A
the effect increases in graded fashion with increased dose

Median effective dose=dose at which 50% of the patients exhibit the specificed quantal effect
